www.uwashdoggie.com Professional Pet Grooming and Self Service Pet Wash in Santa Clarita, Ca.
I recently received a press release identifying the most common problems treated in dogs. – I think this list is accurate. This list was compiled from more than 485,000 pets insured by Veterinary Pet Insurance Co. (VPI).
According to VPI, in 2010 their policyholders spent nearly $43 million treating the 10 most common medical conditions afflicting their pets. So they sorted their database of more than 485,000 insured pets to determine the top 10 pet medical conditions from the previous year.
Below are the results for the most common medical problems treated in dogs:
1. Ear Infection
2. Skin Allergy
3. Skin Infection/Hot Spots
7. Bladder Infection
8. Soft Tissue Trauma
9. Non-cancerous Tumor

At Truly Dry Carpet CleaningWe use HOST® and this is why:
•First, it is important to know the objective of carpet cleaning. The objective is to remove the soil as completely and efficiently as possible.
•There are two different principles at work in each method. A wet method must first liquefy and dissolve the soil in and on the carpet in order to begin to retrieve it. As the liquid flows onto the carpet and the liquefaction of the soil occurs, it essentially loses control and the soil and cleaning solution flow throughout the entire carpet. Based on the statistics that manufacturers of extractors use, only 60-85% of the liquid used, can be retrieved.
•Consequently, if 10 gallons of liquid is used in a room, 3-4 gallons of liquid will be left in the carpet. When we look in the tank and see dirty water, we must remember the 3-4 gallons left behind in the carpet contain the same dirty residues.
•In other words, what is left behind has the same soil and cleaning chemicals as what is in the tank. As the carpet dries out, some of the soil and spots may wick to the surface of the carpet and require recleaning.
HOST® works on a different principle. It is millions of small sponges, dampened with the right amount of water, detergents and a safe-to-use solvent. This allows us to keep control of the liquids at all times during the cleaning process so there is no chance of wickback
HOST® is just like a sponge you use in your kitchen to wipe up spills on a table or counter. When you pass the sponge across the surface, it lays out a film of cleaning agents which dissolves the soil and then the sponge absorbs the dissolved soil. Everything that is dissolved is absorbed and trapped in the HOST® SPONGES so it can be removed by vacuuming. This is a controlled way of removing soil which meets the objective stated above. This is a very efficient way to remove soil from the carpet.
If it has been a while since you have cleaned your carpeting by a carpet cleaning professional call Truly Dry Carpet Cleaning for an estimate. Mention offer WEB10 for a 10% discount.

Today I would like to share with you the 6 Deadly Poisons That Could Kill Your Dog.
Let’s just get right to the list.
#1 – Antifreeze – This is the most common deadly poison ingested by dogs and cats. Antifreeze has a sweet taste and dogs like it. Please keep ALL antifreeze stored safely away out of your dog’s reach. When adding antifreeze to your car, make sure to clean up any spills so your dog will not lick them up. As little as one teaspoon of antifreeze can kill a small dog.
#2. Mouse and Rat Baits – There are several ingredients in these products that are toxic. The most common one causes bleeding disorders that can be fatal. Make sure any baits that you use are safely out of your pet’s reach.
#3. Slug Bait – In the summer months, slugs come out and bait is used to kill them. The active ingredient is metaldehyde and it can cause uncontrollable seizures in dogs.
#4. Dog medications – Overdosing or accidental access to pet medications is a common cause of poisoning in dogs. If your pet accidentally gets anything he shouldn’t, call your veterinarian. Early identification and treatment can save his life. Your vet may even recommend induced vomiting to get it out of his system as quickly as possible.
#5. Human medications – Dogs commonly gain access to human medications or are given these medications by a well-intentioned (but misinformed) owner. When human medication is given to a pet it is easy to give an overdose amount. Also, many human medications are toxic to dogs. PLEASE don’t give your dog anything without consulting with your veterinarian. Why chance it?
#6. Insecticides – Don’t give your pet anything for fleas or ticks unless approved by your veterinarian. Some pets are sensitive to certain medications.
I hope these tips will help you keep your pet safe. www.uwashdoggie.com
